Learning to Fish with Amanda - 204102

If you have always wanted to give fishing a try, or just want to refresh the experience, this is the program for you! After a brief introduction to the basics of fishing equipment and fishing fundamentals, enjoy time at the pond, “reeling them in”. Equipment and bait provided. Participants should be able to comfortably hold the weight of a cane pole/rod and reel (plus a fish of course)! An adult chaperone must accompany any child under the age of 12 years. We practice “Catch and Release”. Fishing license is not required for anyone under the age of 16 years at our pond. Those 16 and older must have a valid fishing license. (One - 2 hour session).

BATS and OWLS with GRANNY and AMANDA
Spend an evening learning about these wonderful creatures and their significant role in the web of life. Great for families and those interested in beginning or furthering their knowledge about our nighttime flying creatures. Find out about the super powers possessed, the basics of flight, and what makes these two groups significant to our environment. Hiking to locate potential habitats in Ironwoods Park may be included at the end of this program. Come prepared to participate in activities for a wide age range. All children 12 years or younger must be accompanied by a by an adult chaperone/participant. (One - 105 minute session)

Now that the garden is harvested, what should I do? Learn how to prepare compost and indoor worm composting for the cold months ahead. All it takes is a bit of preparation, an occasional feeding, and a small amount of space, and spring could bring you great soil for planting. Let the worms do the work while they enjoy your veggie and fruit "throw aways"! One - 75 minute session.
